Mary-Kate Olsen Looks Like Ozzy Osbourne

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

Is it just me or does Mary-Kate Olsen look a little like Ozzy Osbourne in this pic?

Sarah Jessica Parker Having Twins

Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband, Matthew Broderick, are expecting twin girls--through a surrogate.

The couple, who have been married for almost 12 years, "are happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate. The entire family is overjoyed," says their publicist. They already have a 6-year-old son, James Wilke.

This kicks up plenty of questions for me:
  • Weren't there pics in Star magazine of Matthew canoodling with some woman last year (his rep didn't deny it)?
  • Is Sarah Jessica's age (she's 44) the reason why she went the surrogate route, or is it cause she doesn't actually have sex with her husband anymore?
  • Are these baby girls going to be the best-dressed little ladies in America?
  • Will the twins end up marrying Gwen Stefani's fashionable sons?
  • Why does this feel like a storyline from the Sex & The City movie sequel?

Mel Gibson Holding Hands With Girlfriend

Well, that didn't take long, did it? Just 15 days after his wife of 25 years, Robyn, filed for divorce, Mel Gibson stepped out hand in hand with his girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. They were on the red carpet in L.A. for the premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, produced by Mel's pals Richard and Lauren Donner.

I can't help but feel sorry for Robyn Gibson as I look at this picture. Is she really that disposable and easily replaced by a woman who looks as if she's had a lot of cosmetic surgery?

Video: Danny Gokey Sings "Come Rain or Come Shine"

I don't have a lot of love for Danny Gokey, but tonight he brought it, and then some. I agree with the American Idol judges that he could easily release an album of standards just like this one. And the surprise is that I would probably buy it. Up until tonight I thought the final would definitely feature Adam Lambert and Kris Allen, but now I'm not so sure.

Video: Adam Lambert Sings "Feeling Good"

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

Simon Cowell called Adam Lambert's strut down the pink-lit stairs tonight the "best entrance of the year" on American Idol; Paula Abdul said it was like watching the Olympics and Adam was Michael Phelps. I agree with both comments, but I will say that I don't think a white suit is really Adam Lambert's best look. But his singing? Flawless. (Unfortunately the video was removed from YouTube, so you can't see his performance, but you can listen to it...)

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag Wed

I loathe these two and the idea of them procreating fills me with dread for the future of mankind.

Susan Boyle's Had a Makeover

Thursday, April 23, 2009

Oh, what a surprise.

Ugly duckling Susan Boyle has had a makeover in the wake of her surprise appearance on Britain's Got Talent.

The suddenly world famous singer started with getting her eyebrows thinned out and now she's dyed her gray hair a shade of brown.

Her clothes are starting to look a little different too.

The Sun reports that a local said: “She just had a wee makeover. She’ll never go all Hollywood on us.”

Somebody Save Lindsay Lohan

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

Lindsay Lohan is on a Britney Spears-style downward spiral, and it seems unlikely that anyone is going to step in and save her anytime soon.

The rehabbed starlet is partying hard and has dropped a ton of weight (as you can see in the pictures here), but I wouldn't hold my breath expecting her mom, Dina, to step in and sort her out.

With her career in tatters, it's unlikely that an agent, manager or publicist will even try to help, because it's not like they can make any money out of her anyway.

Sad, sad, sad.

Video: Adam Lambert Sings "If I Can't Have You"

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

He killed it again tonight. The thing that separates Adam Lambert from all the other contestants on American Idol is that he makes every song his own. Plus he really feels the lyrics. And then he nails the song with his flawless vocals.

Here's his version of "If I Can't Have You" and the original by Yvonne Elliman.

Brangelina Are Bad Shoppers

So everyone is excited because Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and their kids went grocery shopping at Stop & Shop in New York on the weekend.

But as I looked at picture, a few things struck me:

Why are Brad and Ange, who consider themselves environmentally conscious folks, using plastic bags? That is just all kinds of wrong.

Why is their shopping cart so empty? I come from a family with six kids and when we went to the supermarket, our groceries would be overflowing out of the cart.

Is Angelina wearing a skintight skirt to prove to everyone that she isn't pregnant?

Why aren't they stopping Zahara from sucking her thumb? (It will ruin the shape of her mouth.)

Simon Cowell Spills on Idol: Kara and Paula Talk Too Much

Simon Cowell was on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson last night, and he admitted that Kara DioGuardi and Paula Abdul talk too much.

He also reluctantly admitted that he's in contract negotiations for American Idol. Will he come back or not? He's not really saying, but I'm sure he will. He suggested that they could replace him with Ryan Seacrest and it would be "fascinating."

PS. Craig Ferguson is THE BEST late night talk show host. Brilliant!

Video: Sneak Peek True Blood Season 2

Oh yay! Here's a scene from the new season of True Blood. If you've read the book, you can guess what is chasing Sookie...

Who Cares What Miss California Thinks?

Um, am I missing something here?

Some drama went down on Sunday night at the Miss USA pageant when pageant favorite Miss California Carrie Prejean was asked a question by blogger Perez Hilton about legalizing gay marriage. Carrie responded that she believed marriage should be between a man and a woman.

And then all hell broke loose, and Carrie claimed she didn't win the competition because of the incendiary question (she came 2nd).

Since then she and Perez have been all over the airwaves defending their opinions. I know this is a free country and all, and people are entitled to their opinion, but who the hell cares what a beauty pageant contestant thinks? She is participating in a sexist, antiquated competition that judges women on their beauty, not their brains.

If it was the First Lady or a member of Congress saying this, I would care, but Miss California? Take a chill pill, people. Seriously.

And, while I think Perez Hilton was pretty clever with his choice of question (he knew it would get him plenty of coverage), it's the equivalent of celebrities making political statements at the Oscars. Yawn. Time and place, you know?

The Miss USA, Miss World and Miss Universe pageants are dinosaurs that belong to another era. And according to Nielsen estimates, Sunday evening’s show was down 12 percent from 2008 and averaged 5 million viewers, and was down a whopping 32 percent from 2007.

So hopefully in a few years the whole beauty pageant thing (and air-headed contestants) will just be an unpleasant memory. Like hourglass-shaped Barbie dolls. Oh wait. Never mind.

In case you missed it, here's the Q&A:

Pic of the Day: Sarah Jessica Parker

She wasn't always Carrie Bradshaw.

I wonder if this is why Matthew Broderick married her...

Naked Guys Dancing on Sweden's Got Talent

Monday, April 20, 2009

Britain has Susan Boyle, Sweden's Got Talent (Talang 2009) has four naked guys dancing with crispbread (known as Knackebrod) covering their private parts. Go figure.

Video: Boy Wonder Shaheen Jafargholi From Britain's Got Talent

Saturday, April 18, 2009

Susan Boyle has got some competition on Britain's Got Talent. Meet Shaheen Jafargholi, a 12-year-old from Wales, home of Tom Jones. The cynic in me is thinking that the show's judge Simon Cowell knew this kid could sing all along and was just messing with him and the audience. I often think kid singers are precocious, but this one has a great voice and doesn't seem pretentious.

So You Think You Can Dance Season 5 Preview

I usually get a little sad this time of year when I realize that American Idol will be over in a month or so, but there's a bright spot on the horizon—that means that So You Think You Can Dance will be on TV soon!

The new season begins May 21, but here's a little teaser featuring Mary Murphy, Adam Shankman, Nigel Lythgoe and Cat Deeley. I wonder, since Adam is featured quite prominently in this teaser, whether he'll have a bigger role on the show this season... I hope so! Love him.

"Cry Me a River": Another Song From Susan Boyle

Wow. Wow. Wow. The British press have uncovered a song that unlikely web sensation Susan Boyle recorded for a charity album back in 1999.

The Britain's Got Talent contestant, who amazed the judges with her singing voice, recorded "Cry Me a River" for The Millennium Celebration compilation album 10 years ago, and I have to say it is even better than her rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" from the TV show.

The gray-haired, frumpy 48-year-old has become a worldwide star, with even Oprah clamoring to score an interview with her. Susan, who admitted that she has never been kissed, was written off by the judges and the audience when she walked onto the stage of the talent show. But by the end of her song, she had the crowd on their feet in a standing ovation.

Susan says that she hopes that the way she surprised people will be a lesson to everyone. "Modern society is too quick to judge people on their appearances,” she says.

Britain's Got Talent judge Simon Cowell is reportedly trying to get her a record deal. But will they give her an image makeover?

Separated at Birth? Madonna and Faye Dunaway

Geez. Madonna needs to stop the cosmetic surgery procedures. Now.

She is starting to look like Faye Dunaway. And that is a scary thought.

Matt Giraud Saved By The Judges On American Idol

Wednesday, April 15, 2009

What a week it's been on American Idol.

First they decided that only two judges at a time could weigh in on each contestant (mainly cause Kara DioGuardi talks waaay too much), and then tonight the judges used their one-time-only veto vote to keep Matt Giraud in the competition.

"Matt, it's good news," Simon Cowell told Matt, who started crying immediately.

This means that two people will be leaving next week (and the theme is disco).

How much would it suck if Matt just ended up getting eliminated next week? (Somehow I think it's going to be him and Lil Rounds...)

I hope they don't stick to only two judges at a time weighing in next week. I always want to hear what Simon thinks but couldn't give a flying fig about what the other judges have to say. I really hope they come to their senses at the end of this season and realize that Kara was a bad idea and go back to the way things were in previous seasons.

And as much as I like the idea of the judges being able to save someone, it really doesn't seem fair to all the people who call or text their votes in each week. It's the reason I haven't been voting this season. Well, that is part of the reason; my main excuse is that every time I vote for someone, they end up getting voted out.

Anyway, it doesn't matter who wins. I am going to buy Adam Lambert's album whether he is named American Idol or not.

Video: Anderson Cooper Talks Teabagging

Oh no he didn't! Guess what Anderson Cooper said on AC360: "It's hard to talk when you're teabagging."

And he said it with a "straight" face!!!!

Beyond brilliant. I love you, Anderson!

Nadya Suleman Wants to Trademark "Octomom"

Media-whoring mother of octuplets Nadya Suleman is seeking to trademark the name "Octomom" despite recently claiming that she disliked being referred to by that moniker.

There's just one little problem—another company beat her to it and filed a trademark application a month ago.

But according to Nadya's lawer: "It's not going to matter because they had no permission from Nadya, who has the rightful claim to the name 'Octomom'... The idea would be for others to use it for licensing. It's just a smart thing to do."

Uh-huh. And next she's going to try to trademark the name "crazy bitch" because she has the rightful claim to that name too.

There's Something About Zac Efron's Hair

First he looked like he was trying to be a real-life Japanese anime character with those bangs that fall over his eyes, now Zac Efron looks as if he's trying to be Cameron Diaz in There's Something About Mary. Insert hair gel joke here...

Video: Stavros Flatley. Move Over Susan Boyle From Britain's Got Talent

There must be something in the water over in the U.K. The people auditioning for Britain's Got Talent look as if they are going to be train wrecks and then they surprise and amaze. First there was Susan Boyle who had the voice of an angel. Now check out these Greek dancers (Demetrios Demetriou and his son Lagi), known as Stavros Flatley. Fab! This is way more entertaining than the American version of the show. Simon Cowell declared that they were his favorite dance act ever.

Hugh Jackman Heartbroken Over Wolverine Leak

Wednesday, April 8, 2009

Hugh Jackman took his action man persona very seriously today when he arrived via helicopter at a sneak preview of X-Men Origins: Wolverine in Sydney today.

He flew down to the ground on a flying fox, greeting fans, showing them 20 minutes of the film and then taking questions. Hugh talked about the film being leaked online, saying he was "heartbroken by it." The version leaked online was an unfinished work print (without all the special effects), which Hugh compared to "a Ferrari without a paint job."

He also revealed how he got into the mood to play the mutant Wolverine: "I take a cold shower every morning, as cold as I can do it because it really pisses me off and that somehow gets me in the mode of doing it."

Then he talked about the nude scene in the movie that will have some people wanting to take a cold shower themselves. "You see flashbacks of that scene in X-Men 2, so we were pretty much hemmed into that nudity...back in X-Men 2, when I had no say in those things. I'm not particularly worried about it at all. I do know that it's a PG13 movie so old James Roger down there wasn't going to be seen on the big screen."

I can understand Hugh being upset about the film being leaked online, but it doesn't make me any less eager to see the film when it comes out. Watching a film on your computer is nothing like watching it at the cinema. Particularly when that film features Hugh Jackman nude! Even though you don't get to see James Roger, the rest of Hugh naked needs to be seen on the big screen!

Video: SYTYCD Kherington is in Fame!

I am such a big fan of the movie Fame and the TV series that followed it (I loved Leroy) that it's hard to muster much enthusiasm for the remake that is coming out in September. But the fact that Kherington from So You Think You Can Dance is in the new film has me a little more interested. I wish Adam Shankman was directing, but at least Debbie Allen is in the movie, as the principal. I just hope she gets to say, "You want fame? Well, fame costs and right here is where you start sweat."

Here's the opening credits from the TV series. RIP Gene Anthony Ray.

Video: Eminem Slams Jessica Simpson, Kim Kardashian and more

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

I am not a huge fan of Eminem, but he makes some hilarious videos. In this video for his new song "We Made You," he slams Jessica Simpson, Kim Kardashian, Bret Michaels, Sarah Palin, Amy Winehouse and lots more. And he gets Elvis Presley in Jailhouse Rock and an homage to Star Trek in there too! Excellent. And the hilarious Bobby Lee from Mad TV is in there too.

But what's up with his voice? It sounds a lot higher than it used to.

See More of the Wolverine Movie

He he he. Thanks Funny Or Die. I love Hugh Jackman almost as much as Michael J. Fox.

Video: My Idol Adam Lambert Sings "Mad World"

If Adam Lambert doesn't win American Idol there is something seriously wrong with this world. He just blows the other contestants out of the water week after week. Tonight, they saved the best for last and he sang Tears For Fears' "Mad World" and got a standing ovation from all four judges (with Simon Cowell leading the group). Awesome!

The only thing that worries me is that my favorites don't usually win. Hello, Michael Johns...

And for those who don't know the song, here's the original by Tears for Fears.

Baby Wars: Angelina vs. Madonna

Saturday Night Live has been kind boring since Tina Fey stopped playing Sarah Palin, but last night's "Weekend Update" segment with Madonna and Angelina Jolie in a baby battle was hilarious.
