Fire At Universal Destroys My Movie Memories

The Back to the Future set was one of many movie locations destroyed in a fire at Universal Studios in L.A. today.

The King Kong exhibit and a video vault containing 40,000 videos and reels chronicling Universal's movie and TV shows were also destroyed. Sad.

"We have duplicates of everything," said NBC Universal President and Chief Operating Officer Ron Meyer (Tobey Maguire's father-in-law). "Nothing is lost forever."

Along with the courthouse square, the famous clock tower that enabled Michael J. Fox's character to travel through time was damaged, fire officials said.
